The Product Development test evaluates candidates on their knowledge and practical understanding of the end-to-end process of creating new products. From initial concept through to launch, candidates must demonstrate their ability to navigate the complexities of developing products that meet market demands, solve problems, and contribute to business success.

The test begins by assessing candidates’ ability to identify and prioritize consumer needs. Product development starts with market research, and candidates will be evaluated on their ability to gather insights, analyze trends, and identify gaps in the market. Converting these insights into viable product ideas is a critical skill explored in this phase.

Next, candidates are tested on their ability to ideate and conceptualize product ideas. This portion evaluates creative thinking as well as an understanding of design and engineering principles that guide product creation. A key focus is balancing innovation with feasibility, ensuring the product idea can be effectively brought to life.

The test further assesses candidates’ skills in prototyping and iterative testing. Candidates must demonstrate how they would approach creating prototypes, gathering feedback, and refining designs before launch to improve the product.
